She has a degree in Romance Philology and a PhD in General Linguistics. She is a professor at the UB Faculty of Education and a member of GELA (Research group on endangered languages).  Her research focuses on multilingualism, with specialised studies in the education and health fields. She has also worked on semantic categorisation in immigrant languages; linguistic attitudes and ideologies; and heritage languages, revival, and transmission.
